Texas Jo Kaberline was born December 7, 1949 in Springer, NM to Arch and Mildred Wadlington. She passed away in her home on April 11, 2024. Texas spent her early years in several places in New Mexico, where she loved spending time with her siblings. She moved to Cheyenne, WY in 1977, and then married Jeffery K. Kaberline on June 6, 1978. Through this union, Jeff and Texas had four daughters.
Texas was first and foremost a mother. She cared deeply, fiercely, and unconditionally about all her children, including those that were not her own. Her greatest joy was her family.
Texas worked for the Canon City School District in the transportation department for 20 years and retired as the Director of Transportation. After retiring, Texas bought a motorcycle, and enjoyed riding the great unknown on her trike.
Texas is survived by her husband, Jeff Kaberline; daughters, Kelly Brown, Kristen Kaberline, Kourtney (Mickey) Ratzlaff; grandchildren, Garrett Huff, Harley Huff, Abby Brown, Eldrick Smith, Kenley Smith, Asher Ratzlaff, Kacen Ratzlaff; and numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, Robert Wadlington, Evelyn (Mark) Riecken, Ethel Bernal (Steve Owen), and Andrew (Cindy) Wadlington.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Arch Wadlington; daughter, Korey Kaberline; sisters, Juanita Riddle and Susan Crow; and brother, James.
