Obituary for Judith Mick
Judith “Judy” Carol Mick, born June 20, 1932 in Center, Colorado to John and Garnette Sheesley, departed this life July 23, 2017. She moved from Hooper, Colorado to Canon City in 1944 and graduated from CCHS in 1950. In 1951, she began a 32-year career with Mountain Bell Communications.
On Mother's Day, 1945 she was baptized by the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She loved her church family very much, as she loved Jesus.
Judy was preceded in death by her son, Cyril Wentz; husband of 43 years, William “Bill” Mick; her parents; stepmother, Della; stepbrothers, David McKibben, Joe McKibben; and daughter-in-law, Susan Mick.
She is survived by her stepsons, Terry (Doris) Mick, Jim Mick; stepdaughter, Nancy (Pat) Kelly; four granddaughters; one grandson; seven great-grandchildren and stepbrother, Herb (Katy) McKibbon.
Judy and Bill loved to travel in their motorhome to Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, California, Nevada, and most of the United States. They enjoyed a cruise to Alaska and Nova Scotia and also loved visiting Branson and Tennessee. Hawaii was one of their most special trips with many wonderful memories.
Visitation, 9:30 a.m. with funeral service to follow a 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, First Christian-Disciples of Christ Church, 16th St. and Franklin Ave., in Canon City. Interment to follow at Lakeside Cemetery.
