Arthur Willis Kibel, 82, of Canon City, born in Vona, Colorado on April 13, 1935, passed away August 2, 2017.
On January 24, 1955, Arthur was united in marriage to Letha (Sporing) Kibel. For many years, he worked on John Golden’s wheat ranch in Northwest Kansas. He later worked for the city of LaSalle, Colorado in Weld County before moving to Canon City in 1997. There, he worked for the Royal Gorge Bridge until retiring at the age of 75.
Arthur loved hunting and music and especially enjoyed playing the guitar. Above all else, Arthur loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them. He was dearly loved by all his family and friends and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Letha Kibel; children, Stan (Dawn) Kibel, Johnnie (Sherri) Kibel, Mark (Shelly) Kibel; brother, Louis; sister, Clara; 21 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Daisy (King) Kibel; son, Jim Kibel; infant son, Kurtis Kibel; four sisters and six brothers.
Visitation, 1:00 p.m. Saturday, August 5, 2017 followed by funeral service at 2:00 p.m., Wilson Memorial Chapel, 1449 S. 9th St., in Canon City. Graveside service, 9:00 a.m. Monday, August 7, 2017, Lakeside Cemetery, in Canon City.
