Thomas E. Horton, 61, of Canon City, passed away November 6, 2017. He was born July 31, 1956 in Oakland, California, to Billie G. and Billie J. Horton. A retired veteran of the United States Navy, Thomas was a former member of the Cowboy Church in Florence. He enjoyed fishing, going to State Fairs, playing bingo, poker, watching the Denver Broncos and listening to country music. Above all else, Thomas enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored.
He is survived by his mother, Billie G. Horton; daughter, Cassandra Pritt; son-in-law, Ben Pritt; son, Curtis Hiestand; former wife, Kathy (Horton) Lanckriet; grandchildren, Ashley Pritt, Benny Pritt, Carly Pritt, Brandon Hiestand; sisters, Thelma Palmer, Jody Warner; niece, Naomi Higgins; nephews, Charlie Palmer, David Palmer, Daniel Horton, Stephen McKane; great-nephews, Alan Ernst, Ryan Ernst, Tay Ernst; numerous extended family members and many friends.
Thomas was preceded in death by his father, Billie J. Horton and brother, Billy Jack Horton.
Memorial service, 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017, Holt Family Chapel of the Garden, in Canon City.
